Privacy

Your information should be treated with care.

This page explains how Cruse Control Business Systems Limited uses personal information supplied through this website and through related enquiries, downloads, purchases and customer communications.

The short version: we use information to respond to you, provide what you have requested, administer customer relationships and transactions, and meet normal business and legal obligations. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not provide it to third parties for their own marketing.

Information you may provide to us

Depending on how you use the site, this may include your name, company or organisation, email address, telephone number, postal details, the content of an enquiry, information supplied when requesting a demonstration or free download, and information needed to fulfil a purchase or provide support.

Our website forms may also record technical information such as the IP address associated with a submission. Our web server and hosting systems may retain ordinary technical logs needed to operate, secure and diagnose the website.

How we use it

Enquiries

To read and respond to messages sent through the website, by email or by telephone, and to maintain an appropriate record of business correspondence.

Demos & downloads

To provide requested software demonstrations or other downloads and, where applicable, record the request in our business systems.

Purchases

To process and fulfil orders, supply products or licences, provide customer support and maintain transaction and accounting records.

Existing customers

To administer an ongoing customer relationship, including support, development work, licensing and relevant service communications.

Forms and service providers

Some website forms use a third-party form and CAPTCHA service to transmit submissions and reduce automated spam. Information submitted through those forms therefore passes through that service as part of delivering the message to Cruse Control.

Other service providers may necessarily process limited information on our behalf when providing website hosting, email, payment processing, banking or other infrastructure required to operate the business. We only intend to share information where it is necessary for the relevant service, transaction, legal requirement or at your request.

The site previously used third-party marketing and visitor-identification services. Those services are no longer intentionally used as part of the modernised website.

Online purchases and payment information

Cruse Control intends to continue offering online purchasing in some form. The exact purchasing and payment arrangements may change as the website is modernised.

Where payment is handled by a bank, card processor, payment service or other checkout provider, information necessary to complete the transaction may be supplied directly to that provider. Cruse Control may retain the order, customer, licence and accounting information needed to fulfil the purchase and maintain proper business records.

We will update this page if a material change to the purchasing system changes the way personal information is handled.

Marketing

We do not sell, rent or disclose your details to other organisations for their own marketing. If Cruse Control sends optional marketing or news communications, you may ask us to stop sending them.

Service communications that are reasonably necessary to administer a purchase, licence, support request or existing customer relationship are different from optional marketing communications.

Keeping and protecting information

We take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access, loss or unnecessary disclosure of information. No internet or email system can be guaranteed completely secure, but access should be limited to what is reasonably required to operate the business and provide the requested service.

Information is kept for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for an ongoing customer or business relationship, or to meet accounting, tax, legal and other legitimate record-keeping requirements. Different records may therefore be retained for different periods.

Your information and your choices

You may contact Cruse Control if you want to ask what personal information we hold about you, correct information that is inaccurate, object to or restrict certain uses, ask us to stop optional marketing, or ask whether information can be deleted. Some records may need to be retained where there is a legal, accounting or other legitimate reason to do so.

To make a privacy enquiry, use the contact details below. We may need enough information to confirm who you are before disclosing or changing personal information.
